It’s a Cardinal kinda week, astrologically speaking. Cardinal, for those who don’t know already, is a “quality,” a way of expression – a style, so to speak. The term is derived from the start of a season, and so, its means initiation, beginnings, leadership, starting, generating. With five planets in Cardinal signs - Cancer, Capricorn and Aries – it’s the sorta week where you really wanna be at the helm, navigating your own ship and calling the shots.
And the times, they are a-changin’! This week offers rays of sunshine, change, and adventure, and plenty of love with a brilliant Full Moon in Aquarius, Mercury heading into powerful Leo and relationship-orientated Venus heading into sweet, sweet Cancer. Air, Fire, and Water – sounds like a perfect balance, no? It’s also a week for risks and weighty communication with Mercury opposite Saturn, and Mars square Jupiter. Phew! But, first things first – the Full Moon. Full Moons are always a time of culmination and fruition, but this particular Full Moon has a few surprises up her sleeve. She’s angled to unpredictable Uranus, planet of holy chaos and the archetype of the Rebel – and so, this reflects a time of sudden change! You may see the fruits of your labor, started way back in February of this year, but there’s something…different…in terms of the outcome. Something you may have not expected. Maybe, for example you got the job, but the twist is that you’re going to be spending half of your time in another country. Or maybe you embarked in a course of study, only now to find that you’re off on a completely different path, and even if you don’t like the change, the best thing to do is simply embrace it, sweetheart – Uranus is all about liberation, freedom, and being authentically you. This Full Moon mirrors that need and desire to be originally yourself – no frills or fluff!
Following this Full Moon, communication-focused Mercury heads into proud Leo, giving your voice a bit of a roar! This is a time not to be a shrinking wallflower, hiding behind your notes and scribbling emails to those who need to hear your truth. No, darling – this is the time to say it out loud, to shout it from the rooftops, to stand by your word and deliver your message with gusto! Sure, you may come across as forceful – but with the right tone, you’ll more than likely come across as a leader. Mercury does have a brief standoff with Saturn, planet of limits and discipline, which will tone down the colors for a moment and have you swallowing your ideas – though because of this, you’ll have a moment of reflection, and will be able to communicate with a lot more gravity. Serious decisions can be made, and your challenge will be not to project the worst of your fears into the future.
When it comes to affairs or the heart, you can look forward to a deeper, more connected time with your lover as Venus leaves fickle Gemini and shifts into tender Cancer. This is a season to snuggle in with your beloved – whether that beloved is a human, bestie, family member, or pet. Venus in Cancer has all the feels and just wants to love and be loved. It’s a mushy time for romance, and a period where you don’t want to play anymore – you want the real deal. Don’t settle for less, darling. And finally, to end it all off with a bang, feisty Mars in Aries squares staid Jupiter in Capricorn, stirring up an adventurous, rebellious spirit – watch that you don’t cross a line you may come to regret!
